I just wanted to say that I am sorry for the off-topic messages but I
was purely curious. I did not mean to flame anyone or criticize
Rocke's decision but was simply trying to find out why this decision
had been made.

OB DESChal:

I have to say I am especially happy that DESChal has an OS/2 client.
I considered checking out the DES Challenge attack since having so
many computers available certainly gives them an edge (although our
highly optimized PC Clients are key to our success) but was
disappointed to find they did not have clients available for OS/2.

As to the fact that we are doing so well with _just_ a single 486/66
server, does this have anything to do with the fact that our clients
send back so little information? I know the solnet group indicates
machine architecture along with e-mail address. The additional
information that must be processed must take some additional CPU time
and this could contribute to their server problems. BTW, I think it
is fantastic we are using a 486 for the server. It just goes to show
that we don't always need the latest, greatest hw.
