Well, I think the odds of DESCHALL doing the first are good, but the
second cannot happen. The DES algorithm is fixed at 64 bit key (of which 8
bits are only parity). There are tricks you can pull to make encrypting
your data a more secure process (eg, Triple-DES), but DES is DES, and DES
is 56 bits.
