Yet...it just occurred to me that the deschall-u2t script is probably
expecting to find a web proxy server, NOT a socks server, at the proxy
host:port. Oops! I built a socksified perl5.002 (which I called "rperl"), but
it complains about not being able to dynamically load the Socket.pm module;
otherwise this combination would probably work. I think I'm going to try
starting from square uno and build the perl5.004beta distribution, as well as
a new rperl...unless anyone's got some other ideas for me to try...?
