The new front-end (whenever it comes out) will have something like that.
As it is here is a little shel script to do that,
(As always modify /usr/bin/csh to point to where csh really is)

sun4c (old v7 sparc, either supersparc or sparc client)
sun4m (v8 sparc, use supersparc)
sun4u (Ultra sparc, use ultra sparc)
I don't know what the Hal machines return . .
"fpversion" can give you more data if it is installed.
HyperSparcs are just like v8 supersparcs (this info only appears in
fpversion as far as I know)
