Considering the multi-user, multi-architecture, and network environment of
most Unix systems, there doesn't seem to be a real need for well developed
client front ends. I wrote a quick hack to manage deschall processes to
meet my specific needs, called Watch Fork Utility or 'WFU' for short,
which may be of use to you or others. It's available at
