I find the performance number "boasting" rather amusing and interesting.
Theoretically, a 128 processor 195MHz R10000 SGI Cray Origin 2000 can
generate a peak key rate of over 260M/sec, which is enough to put it at 5th
place in the daily rankings. Just 4 of these beasts would oust sun.com's
#1 ranking. (Maybe SGI's internal effort is using some of these?)

Neither these nor Sun's numbers discourage me from making my small
contribution to the DES challenge. It's the participation that
counts, no matter how small, not how many keys any particular
contributor can generate.
