It seems to me that people should place advance orders for the sizes,
colors, and numbers of shirts that they (minimally) want and people should
be able to specify *any* size and color. This will enable the person
producing the shirts to establish a baseline number for quantity discounts.
It is probably reasonable for people to pay in advance so that each
person's risk is only for the shirts they want. If the producers choose to
make extras, in hopes of selling them, then they can stock only what sizes
and colors they like. Everyone will have had a chance to place their
special order.
